Metallica is a heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1981. Founded by guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, was joined by bassist Cliff Burton and guitarist Kirk Hammett. Their debut album, "Kill 'Em All" (1983), established his reputation in the scene of thrash metal. The release of 'Ride the Lightning" (1984) and "Master of Puppets" (1986) consolidated their success and recognition.
The tragic death of Cliff Burton in 1986 marked a change in their alignment. Jason Newsted joined as bassist, contributing to albums such as "...And Justice for All" (1988). "Metallica" (1991), commonly known as "The Black Album", was a landmark commercial hits such as "Enter Sandman". Over the years, the band has evolved musically, exploring a variety of styles in albums like "Load" (1996) and "St. Anger" (2003). Metallica remains one of the bands of heavy metal's most influential and successful of the world.
